February 7, 2014 --:-- PM Taste Better When Made With Love Two days this week I've been sent off to work with a lunch made entirely by ambitious three-year-olds. A bag of sugar snap peas, an apple, an orange, and two single serving containers of yogurt (probably because she could not break them apart.) It was very cute. Speaking of cute, this past weekend we took the family swimming, and after the event I was helping my little guy get changed in the locker room when he suddenly blurts out with great concern in his voice, "Oh NO, dad! My hands are ruined." After studying the pruning effect long time exposure to water causes, I reassured him that his hands were not in fact ruined, and that they would go back to being normal within a few minutes. They do come up with the cutest things. I'm trying to make an effort to write down the things that are said, as they say them for posterity. They are too funny and my memory too short to let them get forgotten. Both of the oldest girls took turns programming an Arduino to display various sayings, some silly, some less silly, on a Vacuum Fluorescent Display device connected to the Arduino - a project which warmed my heart on many levels.
